We are excited to be partnering with an exceptional, highly creative design and build specialist based near Elvington to recruit a General Administrator.
Our client builds bespoke, high-profile interactive displays and models for museums, heritage sites, science centres, and the arts. With a tight-knit team of around 30, they offer a supportive, fun, and open culture with a genuinely friendly working environment.
About the Role
This is a 3-month temporary-to-permanent opportunity. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will support both the finance and procurement team (experience in these areas are not essential)
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing & Logistics: Collate bill-of-materials from the design team, place orders for parts and supplies (via online vendors and local suppliers), check off delivery notes and maintain tracking spreadsheets.
- Financial & Project Admin: Track project costs, input staff timesheets. journals entry, assist with accounts administration
- General Office Support: Manage reception duties, order refreshments and stationery, book travel and hire vehicles, and run occasional local errands
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Experience of administration in an office environment
- Confident Spreadsheet Skills: You don’t need to be creating complex formulas or pivot tables, but you must be genuinely comfortable navigating, updating, and working within MS Excel spreadsheets with strong numerical accuracy. There’s a lot of spreadsheets so you must love them!
- Multitasking Ability: A calm, adaptable approach to juggling shifting priorities.
- Attention to Detail: Pride in keeping accurate records and entering accurate data
- Personality: Excellent communication skills, a good sense of humour, and a supportive, flexible attitude.
- Driving Licence: A full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle for occasional errands (expenses paid for this).
