About the Role

This highly successful, internationally based organisation is seeking a friendly, dependable and proactive Property Manager to support its large student accommodation portfolio across York. This is a permanent, full‑time position, Monday to Friday, ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of administration, practical tasks and daily interaction with students and contractors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in keeping properties safe, compliant and welcoming. This is a varied role with real impact, offering the chance to build strong relationships, solve problems and help create a positive living environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tenant & Contractor Liaison — Provides friendly, professional support to students, manages viewings, check‑ins and check‑outs, and maintains strong communication with landlords and suppliers.
  • Administration & Team Support — Handles invoices, records, budgets and general office tasks, helping the wider team stay organised and efficient.
  • Maintenance & Property Standards — Oversees planned and reactive maintenance, coordinates repairs, manages snagging, takes meter readings and supports contractors.
  • Health & Safety Compliance — Acts as Building Fire Officer, completes routine safety checks and ensures compliance documentation is accurate and up to date.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Confident, friendly communication style
  • A proactive, practical approach with a willingness to help wherever needed
  • Good attention to detail
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Flexible with occasional out‑of‑hours emergencies
  • Basic working knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Must live within 5 miles of York city centre (essential)

Desirable: Experience in property management, lettings or customer service; knowledge of tenancy processes; experience using property management software; First Aid training.

Salary & Hours

  • £31,200 per year
  • Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
  • Paid additional hours for emergency call‑outs
