We are proudly working with one of the leading, award winning tourist attractions in York, to help them find a special individual to contribute to their success and be a leading light within their existing team.
A new, permanent, full-time position has been created for a Social Media & Digital Manager to work alongside the owner and external Marketing Agency, and, you will need to be (like everyone else that works here) multi-talented, flexible and happy to turn your hand to many tasks on top of your ‘normal job‘.
The primary role of the Social Media & Digital Manager is to look after the social media and digital presence for all the companies’ events. The company has a large Facebook presence but there is a need for this individual to be more creative and actively engaging; their presence also will need strengthening on all the other appropriate platforms (instragram, YouTube, twitter etc.)
You will be tasked with creating fun and engaging content, running ad campaigns and responding to all the feedback it generates as well as dealing with all customer queries on various platforms. You will need to be able to create and edit video and photos whilst events and guests are within the grounds, and, be able to respond outside of “office hours” as this is obviously the nature of social media! You will also be tasked with managing all the organisations websites, whilst also ensuring that they are fully engaged with other websites wishing to partner with them.
Alongside all of this, you may be helping with daily administration tasks/in the retail departments/to recruit and manage seasonal staff/helping run the events or even painting and cleaning in the quiet months. You need to be a jack of all trades, and happy to help wherever needed!

This is a full time position which includes weekends in the ‘busy season’ with days off during the week; but then you will be working reduced hours from December until the end of March (still with the same monthly pay packet though!)
The successful applicant for this role will have excellent digital and social media skills and will have experience ideally of running social media campaigns. You will have a positive, happy disposition and not be afraid of hard work. You will love ‘changing hats’ throughout the day and be a creative genius! A good sense of humour is essential as is being able to demonstrate bags of common sense, initiative and enthusiasm.
